Welcome to Ulukhaktok

Welcome to Ulukhatok, meaning “where there is Copper” or Uluksaqtuuq, meaning "place where one finds material to make ulus". The population of Ulukhaktok is only about 451 people (2009). There has been barely any change in the population in more than a decade. Ulukhaktok is located on the shores of Kings Bay and Queens Bay, on the western side of Victoria Island. It is the most easterly Inuvialuit community.
